Article 11 — Technical Documentation

Article 11 requires that technical documentation is prepared before market placement, kept up to date, and demonstrates compliance with Section 2 requirements. The documentation must contain the elements specified in Annex IV.

Art. 11(1)

Technical documentation prepared before market placement, kept up to date

Artifacts: All 13 artifacts

The entire AI Attest artifact set constitutes the technical documentation. The pipeline enforces all artifacts are submitted before the DONE phase. Cascade invalidation keeps documentation current — any upstream change forces downstream updates. Every version is immutably recorded with content hashes.

Art. 11(1) SME

SMEs may provide Annex IV elements in simplified form

Artifacts: N/A

AI Attest templates are compatible with both full and simplified reporting. The Commission will publish simplified form guidelines — templates can be adapted without engine changes.

Art. Annex IV

Technical documentation must contain specific elements

Artifacts: Mapped element-by-element

Every Annex IV requirement maps to specific AI Attest artifacts: general description (PRD, DEPLOYER_GUIDE), development process (ARCH, DATA_GOVERNANCE), validation procedures (TEST_PLAN, QA_REPORT, MODEL_EVALUATION), cybersecurity measures (SECURITY_REVIEW), and monitoring (MONITORING_PLAN).
